COURSE IN GEOGRAPHIC ANALYSIS WITH GRASS GIS

The 1st edition of the course in Geographical Analysis with GRASS GIS, organized by the SIGTE of the University of Girona, will start the next November 14. The course is addressed to all persons related to land management and environment field with training in management and analysis of data through a GIS needed. Registration is open from November 2 to November 11!

 

 

Today GRASS GIS is the oldest program in the world of open source geospatial software and one of the most powerful and versatile free. Its analytical capabilities at work with vector data as raster data, makes GRASS an excellent tool for development work or geographical spatial analysis in many application areas, from environmental analysis to the analysis of networks through remote sensing or simulation models.


After completing this course, the student will have an overview of the possibilities of spatial analysis with GIS, will learn about different GRASS and QGIS graphical interfaces and general workflows and will be able to perform basic operations and take full advantage of the potential analytical GIS, GRASS through the spatial and geographic analysis.
