FIRST EDITION OF THE MASTER IN TERRITORIAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS PROJECT MANAGEMENT

The Geography Unit of the Department of Geography, History and History of Art and the Xarxa Local de Tributs (Local Tax Network) of the Diputació de Girona (Girona Regional Council) will initiate the 1st edition of the Master in Territorial Information Systems Project Management in October 2007.

The main objective of the Master is to provide a solid base in the theory, the state of development and the potential of geographic and territorial information systems as well as practical experience through an internship in a local public administration office or a company.

The Master is intended for graduates, engineers and students who have completed their degree studies as well as for those professionals who have knowledge of the field of geographic information systems and want to specialise in project design and management.

Among the teaching staff responsible for the Master classes are Marc Compte, a GIS technician from the Design and Programming Area of the Geographical Information Systems and Remote Sensing Service of the University of Girona and Helga Nuell, a graduate in Geography and member of the teaching staff of the Master in Geographic Information Systems.
