INTERNATIONAL GIS DAY

GIS Day (this year celebrated on 14 November 2007) is an annual event at the international level held with the aim of spreading the use of Geographical Information Systems (SIG). In honour of this day various companies and institutions open their doors to demonstrate to the public the usefulness of GIS programmes. 

SIGTE  has also joined this initiative and for some time has collaborated on the creation of a web page where users can learn about GIS and participate in and win prizes (software licences, discounts on specialised UNIGIS distance learning courses, USB flash drives, t-shirts and more) in the different games and competitions proposed.
