WEB PORTAL OF THE REGIONAL YEARBOOK OF CATALONIA
SIGTE draws up the Web portal of the Regional Yearbook of Catalonia.
On Tuesday 18 December 2007 a presentation was made of the new edition of the Regional Yearbook of Catalonia, a compilation of regional topics published by the
Catalan Society for Town and Country Planning (Societat Catalana d’Ordenació del Territori, SCOT), a subsidiary of the I
nstitute of Catalan Studies (Institut d’Estudis Catalans, IEC) of the Government of Catalonia. In addition to the 2006 yearbook, the event provided an opportunity to introduce something new this year: the web portal of the Regional Yearbook of Catalonia, developed by SIGTE at the request of SCOT.
Since 2003 SCOT has published the Regional Yearbook of Catalonia in collaboration with the Barcelona Regional Council Offices and the Ministry of Town and Country Planning and Public Works, the Ministry of Environment and Housing, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Institutional Relations and Participation, and the Ministry of Governance and Public Administration.
This yearbook includes a summary of the 200 most important regional issues of the year in Catalonia. They are current and, in some cases, controversial topics related with the environment, infrastructures, development plans and projects or regional policies. The main objective of the Regional Yearbook of Catalonia is to be an information and consultation tool, for both private citizens and professionals, so that they know what is happening in the region and have the knowledge required for analysis and reflection.
At present the yearbooks that are available for consultation on the web portal are those from the years 2003, 2004 and 2005. Future editions of the yearbook will be published periodically.
