SIGTE consolidates its collaboration with Infonomia through the development of a Google Maps mashup for Barcelona Activa, Barcelona City Council's Agency for Local Development.

The map uses Google Maps as a tool to inform users of the relationship between the centres, institutions, businesses and financial organisations which lead and promote research and development in Barcelona and its metropolitan area.




This map shows the relationship between active researchers or developers in georeferenced form and enables exploration and navigation using search tools, by categories, geographical zones of the city or via a multitude of tags which cross-reference the activities.

The current project has been conceived as the first in a series of phases which will lead to the development of a social network of research and development in Barcelona.
