IDE Univers, an Infrastructure of Spatial Data among Universities and Research Centres

The project is coordinated by the Catalan Government's Secretariat of Telecommunications and Information Society in collaboration with the University of Girona's SIGTE, and includes Catalan, Spanish, Italian and Greek participants.

IDE Univers is a research project which aims to create a Spatial Data Infrastructure to stimulate access, exchange and inter-operability of the large amount of georeferenced data produced by university and research centre projects.

This offers users a potential source of information and provides researchers with an opportunity to circulate their scientific results.

The information space is accessed through a web portal enabling the exchange of georeferenced data and allowing those creating the database to provide a complement to projects from other organisations. The content is organised by themes and the geographic platform provides maps of interest as well as full support for questions related to the territory.
